From working out for external pressure, to moving for internal want.
Just show up again and again.
We didn't start ÍCONA to sell you a future version of yourself.
We started it to give women a place to just show up as they already are, habits and restarts, good weeks and off ones, all included.
We believe fitness works best as self-care, not a performance. So we built the activewear for that: staples you put on without thinking, so you stop asking what to wear, and can just move for the reason that matters, training for longevity instead of a look.
That's when fitness stops feeling toxic and starts feeling like yours. You find your people, women who show up in the same pieces you do, and you keep going, together.
She might be brand new to this, or years into her own routine.
Bag packed, outfit picked the night before, ready to follow along a group workout. Or sixteen hours into a shift, reaching for whatever's clean and forgiving, because she still wants to move even with little time left in the day. Good weeks, quiet ones, still coming back after every setback, because that's what fitness actually is.
She treats her body like a home, not a project. She wears many hats, and no matter how busy that makes her, she makes sure she adds herself to the list too. She comes back after every setback, because fitness is a relationship with herself, not for others. She keeps going. ÍCONA makes it easy: one less decision, on and out the door.
We are our own customer, so we make what we couldn't find.
We are a fitness enthusiast and economist turned founder, a therapist who acts as our thought partner, and a team of college women building this brand from the customer's side of the counter, not the boardroom side.
Staples that outlast the trends, pieces built to last through all your seasons, not just a trend cycle. The little black dress of activewear.
Part of how we build is by upskilling each other. Our founder started a professional development program alongside the brand, because she believes the same things that make fitness work also make a company work: you get further with people than alone, you enjoy the process more, and you build something bigger than you could on your own.
MEET THE TEAMThis was never just about the clothes.
It's the little win of catching yourself in the mirror on your way out and thinking, look at you, you actually showed up. Not for anyone watching, just for you. That's a good look on anyone.
Then there's the recognition you get from someone else who's in it too. You spot her across the gym, the park, the grocery store, going about her day in her ÍCONA set, and you just know. Same rough mornings, same restarts, same choice to show up anyway. No words needed. Just a quiet nod, and maybe a glance that says nice fit too.
A little over a year ago, I left my career at McKinsey and bought a one-way ticket to Bali.
From the outside, I had built a life I was supposed to want. But somewhere along the way, I had stopped feeling connected to it. Leaving gave me the space to ask a harder question: What did I actually want to build?
Over the following year, I traveled across Southeast Asia and became a certified personal trainer. For years, fitness had been tied to how I looked. In Bali, it became something deeper. It became the place I returned to when life felt uncertain and proof that I could keep choosing myself, one day at a time.
I trained alongside women who practically lived in activewear and began sharing early prototypes with them. Their honesty about their bodies, confidence, and what clothing made them feel became the beginning of ÍCONA.
With no background in fashion or manufacturing, I invested my savings and traveled to China to learn firsthand, from sourcing fabrics to walking factory floors and obsessing over every detail.
ÍCONA grew from a lesson I had to learn for myself: Strength isn’t a destination or a certain kind of body. It is the decision to keep showing up for who you are and who you are becoming.
Again and again.
